I love the simplicity of this cake. The crisp white, with dramatic use of pearls makes this our gâteau du jour (cake of the day)!

Yes, I pinky promise you these cakes are eatable. No, please do not allow how stunning and amazing they are to fool you into thinking they’re just a seating piece of art. A very close friend of mine in New York sent me a few pictures of a cake she was lucky enough to eat while attending a wedding over the weekend. She said “V, the cake was amazingly beautiful AND they managed to make it so moist and yummy”! I couldn’t stop laughing over the phone. The bride was happy to announce the cake was made by non other Eat Cake Be Merry! So, naturally I had to go and get more information on this baker who designed such amazing cakes. Below is are the few pictures I was able to get for you.
What do you think? Aren’t these the most beautiful cakes ever? I love how simple some of them are and still so amazingly elegant.
With cakes on my mind,

A perfect day in the office for us at André Winfrye Events is when we make a bride’s day by showing her something completely new and she has her “WOW” moment. Today, such a moment came when I introduced one of my brides to a new concept of cake stands! Yes, I said cake stands!
My bride Melisa is planning her dream wedding which will reflect truly her personality and style. Melisa is sexy, fun, stunning, elegant with a hint of funky and I love it. Everything so far as far as her décor goes is out of the norm and I thought her cake stand should be the same. And that’s when I logged onto Raise the Cake to show her what I had in mind for her amazing cake. Melisa was floored by these beautiful and amazing work. These are not your average cake stands!
With these amazing work of arts, you will see how your wedding cake will take center stage with these custom cake platforms. Brightly colored and textured cake stands can match your wedding theme and feature the attributes of your confection, making an elaborate tiered cake even more so or enhancing a small, simple design with added height and interest. Raise the Cake allows you to design your stand by selecting a fabric, color and embellishing it with an assortment of broaches, ribbons, pins and buckles.
As you know, it’s my great pleasure to show you my personal favorites in anything I recommend! I had a hard time choosing between the platforms but the first platform had me at the first sight of burnt orange, soft satin fabric and beautiful broach. What won’t this go with? You can tie this look into your wedding gown, your chair covers and anything else your amazing heart feels like. My second favorite features the stunning silk dark green fabric with hand-cut flowers and tiny little green crystals. Can you see how stunning your cake will look being displayed on one of these pieces of art?
As always, I what do you think of these cake stands? How are you displaying your cake? You know I would love to hear from you.
In love with anything wedding,
Violaine Diogene

While browsing The Knot’s website as I so often do, I came across these 5 top trends for wedding cakes. Naturally, I thought of my brides and I wanted to share them with you. My personal favorite in the five cakes features? You guest it, I LOVE cake number 4 which features a mini cake designed with handmade sugar flowers, sugar pearls and white chocolate fondant. As always, what do you think about these cakes? Send me a picture of your cake and we’ll feature it in an upcoming cake contest.
Happy Planning,
Violaine Diogene
Trend 1: Black & White
A black-and-white Parisian wallpaper pattern is so stylish when designed on a round cake.
Tip Your cake should blend with the wedding decor, so use the pattern in other places like the place cards or cocktail napkins.

Trend 2: Flower-free Designs
Arts and crafts goes chic as sewing-inspired elements are everywhere. Think exposed stitching on invites and fondant vintage buttons on a white-on-white cake.
Tip When talking to your vendors, keep the look wedding-worthy by using keywords like heirloom rather than handicraft

Trend 3: New Shapes
Cakes are scaling new heights — this skinny square cake is offset by a delicate floral pattern for a stunning combination.
Tip You’ll get less cake per tier because of its slender sides, so this is the perfect shape for a smaller, more intimate affair.

Trend 4: Coordinating Cakes
Match your masterpiece with mini cakes in the reverse color scheme — this stylish color combo of robin’s egg blue with chocolate-brown accents is flipped for added interest.
Tip Package the mini cakes into individual favor boxes for guests to enjoy as a midnight snack.

Trend 5: Haute Chocolate
You can kiss vanilla goodbye. From a marzipan and dark chocolate truffle cake to designer chocolate favors, give chocolate a moment in the spotlight.
Tip: If you’re scared the flavor might be too rich for your guests, serve cake with a small bowls of fruit.
