Islamorada, Florida is one of my very favorite destinations on the planet for weddings. When I stumbled on this stunning wedding, it was honestly love at first sight. The elegance, the simple and yet totally luxe style and the joy…. ok, I’m kinda obsessed.
Everything from the bride’s understated but stunning style to the all white opulent décor and the sweetest of the sweetest, moments captured by the brilliant KT Merry. I tell you, I’m in love! Enjoy.
Bizous, (kisses)

What better way to start the week than with this stunning inspiration featured on the Style Unveiled Blog? I mean really, who knew balloons on the floating to the top of the ceiling could look so good? I feel a trend coming…. Well, maybe.

What do I love most about this design concept? The use of black and grey off course! Not many designers would touch this combination but I love the mixing of lime green with dark neutrals which brings elegance to the table.
The little artichoke accents, simple but beautiful calla lilies, (a favorite of ours!) atop the luxe linens made such a bold statement. The very sophisticated chandelier and dripping strands of crystal above the table looked absolutely stunning and dramatic. A bold table for the bride who wants to make a statement!

One of the reasons I love my job so very much is because I get to design space for my clients and I always like to imagine what it will feel like as a guest to walk into such a space. When came across this outrageously beautiful inspiration shoot (via Style Me Pretty), I literally gasp for breath and I assure you if I were a guest at a wedding and I entered a room such as this…..I would say “shut the front door!” No, I’m not dramatic at all.
I mean, look at this! Do you see the huge mirrors and soft pink arrangements? How about those beautiful mixtures of roses and peonies? The clean and crisp white with the understated yet dramatic mini platinum vases? Do you see the ghost barstools? I’ve simply die and gone to styling heaven! A huge high five to the designers at Luxe Fête Event Planning and Design Studio.

Looking to make a grand entrance? Elie Saab’s got you covered! This designer never fails to leave me utterly speechless and always takes my breath away.
The dreamy shades of champagne and silver, the piles of flowers, the sheer décolleté, of tulle and organza……..ahh I die!

For the past year or so I’ve been secretly obsessing over this splendid and simply amazing illustrator Astrid Mueller. About a week ago, I finally had enough of just looking on her blog gathered the courage to contact her to request permission to feature her work on my blog…I mean, this illustrator designs for companies like Marie Claire, Swarovski, Diesel and not to mention brides all over the world! You guessed it; she agreed and could not have been any more accommodating.
In the next three weeks I’ll take you behind the scene of the design process and trust me, it’s a delicious treat to see the design come to life.
About Astrid
It was clear from an early love of old Hollywood glamour, her teenage sketchpad filled with 1950s inspired illustrations, and her passion for the style of bygone eras Astrid’s destiny lay in a creative future.
Following a Graphic Designer position at Swarovski, Astrid’s love of travel compelled her to enrich her illustration training at schools around the world. Bags packed, she left her home in Switzerland to study design from masters in Zurich, London, Hamburg, and at New York City’s Parsons.
In 2006, armed with an impressive portfolio and entrepreneurial spirit, Astrid returned to Switzerland to launch her design firm, PotatoMammaDesign. After working with clients including Diesel, Marie Claire, and Swarovski, Astrid’s feminine, elegant work was noticed by leading wedding publications The Knot (New York) and You and Your Wedding (London).
A fortuitous request by a friend to create an illustration for a client’s wedding stationery and wedding cake topper opened the door to a new career for Astrid. Moved and inspired by the experience, Astrid launched Astrid Mueller Exclusive to help brides realize their unique wedding vision through her bespoke illustrations.
Celebrating love with a custom-tailored illustration
Christmas was coming up, and my wonderful copywriter, Jessica Fox, was searching for a really special gift for her parents. Not only that, but their anniversary is January 1st, so it had to be something extra one-of a-kind. Her mum used to model, they both love fashion, and Jessica thought an artwork celebrating their relationship would be a marvelous surprise. So, together with her sister, Jessica decided to commission me for a tailor-made, romantic fashion illustration of their parents as a Christmas/anniversary gift. Why was it perfect? Because they are gloriously style-conscious, elegant, happily in love, and just look so good together!
This is the first inspiration board I put together as reference of their design taste and lifestyle. After speaking with Jessica and learning about her parents and their style, I envisioned to work in this color palette:
Then I created this mood board as reference for their lifestyle and joy of life:
mood board to reflect the couple’s lifestyle.

Yes, I’ve died and gone to drama heaven over this oversize, traffic stopping, breath taking and drama hugging veil! Oh, did I say I’m in love with this veil?
This has to be the most dramatic veil I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve seen a few. When I saw this wedding posted on the one and only Wedluxe, my heart did the happy dance.
The bride Sanaz, a wedding planner did not do a bad job in providing major WOW factor in both her ceremony and reception. Take a look at the dramatic tall centerpieces she choose for the reception. I tell you, I die……
In drama heaven,

And so, it’s that time of year again when we have to get a tree and deck the halls of our home, offices, cars, and even our mailboxes. If you’re anything like me, you might be brazing through the magazines and internet for inspiration. Look what I came across.
How stunning are these? This year, I put a real tree with loves of red, fuschai, bold blue and gold ornaments. I decided to do something different and loved the end results. What did you do different this year? Did you get the inspiration from a blog, a magazine or just your pure genius?
