This morning I came across (via WeddingChicks) the most darling spin on the ever so popular Alice in Wonderland photo shoots/theme weddings. The spin on this theme is the use of the stunning, vivid purple which takes this theme to a level of certain of romance. The bride wore a very romantic gown by Rivini and her bouquet composed of all Orchids is simply exquisite!
To read more about this theme and for more information on the vendors, visit WeddingChicks.
Well, what do you think of this theme? What do you think about the colors that were used? I would love to hear your thoughts.
Hoping to inspire you,

Naeem Kahn is a man after my own heart. I love elegant, bold, glamour, feminine and timeless looks. Naeem Kahn delivered all the above in his spring 2011 collection.
Naeem Kahn took designing his latest collection to the next level by combining luxury, sexiness, class all into one piece! He accentuates the smallest details and in result, every look on his collection comes as a work of art!
If you don’t know much about this amazing designer read on. Naeem is anIndian-born who founded his eponymous label in 2003 and presented his first collection at Olympus Fashion Week in 2005. as you’ll noticed in his collection, his work is ornate, intricately detailed as he uses his Indian heritage to bring to life bold colors, the most unique handmade textile materials with shiny luxurious embroidery. One can only assume you would feel nothing short of a star when you wear his clothing.
The gowns below are some of my favorites from his collection. Off course as a bride you can choose to wear one of these gowns as your reception gown or even as a guest in a wedding. You know I love it when a guest attends a black-tie wedding in the appropriate attire and what better way to make your grand entrance?
Loving everything Naeem Kahn,

Jenny Packham is one of my new favorite designers and you know I love to showcase my designer’s work. For the spring of 2011, her collection was inspired by the age of debutante decadence and moonlight balls. The collection has a feel of old Hollywood with intricate embellishments.
The collection is simply exquisite to say the least. The collection is somewhat magical, feminine and graceful. I can tell you that I absolutely love everything about this collection and the use of sparkles on the dresses. It almost looks like the gowns were sprinkled with crystals, fairy dust and strands of silver. The color palette is mostly neutral with a little bit of dark grey, ice blue and some floral prints were perfect for summertime events.
Wishing to wear Jenny Packham,

And so it was Fashion Week in New York and time for the who’s who in designers to reveal their gowns for 2011. Because we, at Andre Winfrye Events loves fashion with every fiber of our being, we figured we would dedicate this week’s posts to our favorite and new designers that takes our breath away. No, we didn’t get a chance to actually attend such amazing events BUT thankfully, we have people in this industry who were able to attend and take pictures which allows to blog.
Since it’s Monday and this designer is absolutely one of my very favorite designers, I think there’s no better way to start the week than with Oscar De La Renta!
Known for his impeccable gowns and dress workmanship, this genius did not disappoint. Everything about the spring 2011 collection screams old world craftsmanship and intricacy of design. I love the attention to details in all this gowns and how the gowns can easily make a girl feel so feminine and over the top beautiful. Below are my favorite gowns and off course you can wear some of these to any grand affair.
In love with Oscar De La Renta!

When I received this picture from one the most amazing photographers I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, I simply smiled and stared at the picture.
Jaxson Photos shot this photo which I find to be amazing, almost magical. It’s something about this father who sits quietly, patiently waiting for his daughter outside her dressing room. One can only imagine the thoughts that are going through his mind. I mean, is he thinking about his baby girl whom he’s about to give away? Is he thinking about his baby girl who’s about to take another man’s name?
This picture to me is a testimony of what great photographers do. It’s a testament to their eyes and what they’re able to see. It’s knowing when to take a picture that will express raw human emotions. A great photographer knows when not to be intrusive and capture the moments and memories that will make us smile and reflect. I can assure you that this bride will smile when she sees the look on her daddy’s face right before he saw her in her wedding attire and that my darling readers, is the true power of a phenomenal photographer.
Mad about Jaxon Photo,

About two weeks ago I received a phone call from one of my brides looking for assistance in find a honeymoon location that would “wake my senses, shake me to the core and don’t forget exotic”! Naturally I started to dig for a location that would fit this darling yet daring bride and I stumbled on this gem; The Cellars-Hohenort, which is a 5 star Relais & Chateaux Hotel. A haven of peace and tranquility, a mere 20 minutes drive from the V&A Waterfront and 10 minutes from the 2010 World Cup Soccer Stadium in Green Point, Cape Town
This fifty three luxury rooms and suites is ideally located in the pristine Constantia Valley, Cape Town. On the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain and neighboring Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. All Fifty three rooms and suites are individually decorated with varied views of the breathtaking 9 acres (3.5 hectares) of world renowned hotel gardens and vineyard.
The Martini is the place to be seen, where guests can sample the bar’s signature drink from one of the longest Martini lists in the world. Having one of the best wine lists in South Africa, the choices are endless. Award Winning dining in either The Conservatory restaurant and Bistro with the emphasis on the organic and the fresh or The Cape Malay Experience restaurant serving traditional authentic Cape Town cuisine. Treat yourself to a private and romantic dinner for two in our Wine Cellar. Facilities include a luxurious Spa and Hair Salon, Collection Boutique, 3 salt-chlorinated heated swimming pools, a tennis court and a Gary Player designed putting and chipping green.
I fell in love with this destination because the diversity of luxury travel and safari opportunities in Southern Africa is immense. A trip to South Africa not only shows you the country’s eclectic cultural mix and widely varied landscapes, but it offers you excellent safari game viewing. Travel in open four-wheel-drive vehicles for unobstructed views of the bush.

Out of all the engagement sessions I’ve blogged about in the last year, I believe this is the first couple that actually belongs to me. What makes this one special? This is my first Indian wedding in Atlanta!
I love every aspect of Indian weddings! Their culture simply fascinate me and their need to use color in the décor just makes me giggle. I love that she chose to wear a white dress for her shoot. Indian brides vary rarely get married in a traditional white gown but since Laxmi wanted to incorporate a white gown, she thought the engagement session was a great opportunity and she looked amazing.
Laxmi is one of the most down to earth brides I’ve ever met! She and Satvik looked so beautiful together and I love that they understand the importance of hiring a great photographer as kate Byars photography was the very first vendor booked!
Kate did such an amazing job with them on the location where they met. To start the photo shoot, Laxmi and Satvik took Kate to Oxford College, where they met almost a decade ago. Below is the outcome of their day.
Loving kate Byars photography!
